Summer is the only time road construction can take place in Alaska just like any other part of the country.
Alaska's 511 website provides the most current and up to date information on road construction. You can call 511 while visiting or visit http://511.alaska.gov
If you are visiting the area in the winter, please be careful on area roads as there are patches of ice in places and many times you may encounter moose on or right next to the road.
